Received the knife today. It’s very comfortable to handle. The knife is beautifully made. Sharp as sharp can be. Highly recommend. This will be my single go to knife in my kitchen.Looking forward to many many years of use.If you're used to knives that cut really nicely and slice through carrots like butter, this is not that knife. It was ok...but when I used it and compared it to another knife I recently bought it definitely did not have the same edge. I'll most likely have to use my sharpening stone to get this to really cut like I want it to cut. It's pretty. The design is amazing, but if you're wanting utility - not going to do the trick. I compared it to the Cangshan S1 Series 59786 German Steel Forged 3.5-Inch Paring Knife which I also bought. Now that knife cuts incredibly well and I was able to chop through carrots like nothing. If you want a nice knife, look that one up on Amazon. This one, you can buy if you get a wetstone and sharpen it up big time. It doesn't come with a nice sharp edge.Love the handle but doesn't stay sharp at all. Wish I hadn't fallen for the handle since the knife is terrible.Updated:The company is great! This was a great purchase.Very sharp, easily wielded utility knife - somewhere between paring knife and chef's knife. Blade is attractive, and if actually the grade of steel they claim, should be durable and hold edge well. Handle is very unusual looking, in a good way. Looks cool.I believe in full-tang construction. It doesn't specify anywhere that this is full tang, which leads me to believe it isn't (usually a feature they will tout). For light work I'm sure it will hold up - not a deal breaker. At this price point, I think it's absolutely a fair value.I have small hands and a full-sized chef's knife is a little unwieldy for me, while paring knives are are too small for carving up pieces of meat or slicing up big vegetables like sweet potatoes or russets or even large onions.This Damascus steel knife is just the right size. It feels great in my hands and it's easy for me to control. (My husband, who has extra-large hands, loves using it as a paring knife -- he says it's more comfortable than our smaller knives.)I can carve up a roast chicken (or a raw one) easily with this sharp knife, and it's long enough and thin enough to let me easily slice up a big sweet potato -- normally, I'm afraid of slipping and cutting myself when dealing with those monsters. I can also julienne carrots or make mirepoix very easily and quickly. This knife is heavy enough and sharp enough to feel trustworthy -- it allows me to chop finely and safely.I use it daily and have sharpened it (on a traditional rectangular whetstone) several times now; it returns to its original sharpness quickly and easily. It's gorgeous with a full-tanged blue resin and wood handle. It's a pleasure to look at. It would make a great gift for a cheffy friend. It comes in a nice box that's small enough to keep in your kitchen drawer to keep the knife safe if you aren't using a wooden block for storage. I absolutely love this knife.This is an impressive knife, it's sharp razor sharp right out of the box and has held its edge fairly well. The handle is comfortable to hold and offers a strong grip.
